Interview with Award winning Startup Voltiris
Dominik Blaser, co-founder of the innovative Swiss solar startup, explains in an interview why Voltiris is so successful and what the plans are for 2026. INNOVATION Voltiris unlocks the hidden source of power in greenhouses with the world’s first solar modules compatible with greenhouse crops. It combines existing components so that the lightweight, colored solar modules can be installed very quickly in existing greenhouses – it takes only 15 minutes per module, making 10,000 m² installations possible in under three weeks. OPERATION Several systems are now in operation, and the results are clear: fruit and vegetables grow better under the solar cells because heat and dehydration are reduced. In addition, operators can cover almost 80% of their own electricity consumption, which has risen sharply in recent years due to high-tech production and the switch to electric heating. With Voltiris, operators are independent of electricity price fluctuations – and their plants grow even better. As a result, the investment pays for itself within just a few years. GROWTH For 2026, the installation of nearly 100,000 m² is planned. Production capacities are currently being expanded, and the team has grown to almost 30 employees. A first branch has opened in the Netherlands, and the company is already working closely with customers in various countries, including France, China, and Japan. Energy Startup Day Voltiris won the PUBLIC AWARD at the Energy Startup Day and is now in discussions with several promising contacts. We are, of course, very pleased about this and wish Dominik and his team every success in 2026. Voltiris is also featured in our Recap film VOLTIRIS Website
